Cala Alcaufar is very picturesque, a long narrow inlet (cala) with fishermen's cottages lining one side of the inlet. The village is has some beautiful villas and a small hotel ( Xuroy) with a bar and terrace along one side of the inlet, there is only one small shop and one restaurant so a car is a must.
It is an ideal place for the get away from it all type holiday. The cove is very safe if you have small children, they can play quite safely, although the beach is not one of Menorca's best.
This part of Menorca has some lovely walks, one leads you out to an old Martello type tower on a headland, where there are good views out to S'Algar and the Isle de L'Aire at Punta Prima.
Cala Alcaufar is very near to S'Algar and Punta Prima and is only a short drive from Sant Lluis and Mahon.
